The EU Commissioner for Digital Agenda, Neelie Kroes, has invited kids, parents, grandparents and teachers (via Facebook) to explore the online world safely & responsibly during the next Tuesday, 7 February, when a Safer Internet Day (SID) across Europe and across the world is announced.
It’s about connecting generations to educate each other – Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world, with Safer Internet Centres, SID Committees and other supporters in each of the countries coming together to plan and organise events. Schools and individuals would need to register. MediaLaws published her speach about single set of rules for Europe – the EU data protection reform – and Cloud Computing Strategy.
Last week Neelie Kroes (via @NeelieKroesEU) was in Davos at the World Economic Forum. Her principal reason for being there was to announce an exciting new initiative on cloud computing – the European Cloud Partnership, which in particular focuses on the role of the public sector. “An important step forward to making the EU not just cloud friendly, but cloud-active”, she stressed in her blog.
Lisa Di Feliciantonio (@lisadf) spotted the most important ‘Copyright‘ implications of ‘Connected TV‘ and cloud computing in her video interview with the EU Commissioner for Digital Agenda.
